You are building fundamentals, scorekeeping, positioning, and confidence. Basic strokes, serves, returns, dinks, and volleys are still becoming reliable.

• Focus on getting more balls in play and learning court position.
• Aim deeper on serves and returns; use soft, controlled dinks.
• Practice short rallies and one good habit each game.

You are developing solid strokes and beginning to manage rallies. Serves and returns are usually in; you are learning depth, third-shot drops, resets, and moving with your partner.

• Return deep, then move safely to the NVZ.
• Drop low balls, drive higher balls, and follow your shot in.
• Practice soft blocks to reset speed-ups.

You have more dependable depth and control, longer dink rallies, and increasing awareness of attackable balls. You are mixing drops and drives and working as a team with fewer gaps.

• Control dink height and depth before attacking.
• Use block → reset → reposition to neutralize pace.
• Track a game metric, such as quality drops or unforced errors.

You use pace, depth, and placement intentionally. You recognize attacks, can block and reset fast balls, vary third-shot choices, communicate well, and use strategy to expose weaknesses.

• Vary serve/return depth and speed to control the first three shots.
• Train deliberate speed-up and counter patterns.
• Stack and poach with a clear purpose, not by habit.

You execute the full shot menu with touch, spin, pace, and placement under pressure. Dink and third-shot choices are intentional; you adapt quickly, turn defense into offense, and make few unforced errors.

• Refine opponent-specific patterns, disguise, and score-pressure execution.
• Use objective tournament results and qualified coaching feedback.
• Black is for elite/pro-level competitive play.
